Philippa Perry

Philippa started her journey by volunteering with the Samaritans before becoming a trained psychotherapist. She worked in the mental health field for several years. In 2010, she published her graphic novel, "Couch Fiction," which delves into the process of psychotherapy. Following this, she wrote "How to Stay Sane" for a series published by the School of Life and Pan Macmillan in 2012. Her third book, "The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read (And Your Children Will be Glad That You Did)," was published by Penguin Life in April 2019. In addition to her psychotherapy work with Talk for Health, Philippa has been involved in presenting several documentaries for BBC Radio 4, Channel 4, and BBC4. Some of her documentary topics include children who lie, the age of emotion, humiliation, bipolar disorder, and a history of agony aunts. She also created a cartoon agony aunt series for Guardian Video and has contributed to various other radio and television programs. Philippa resides in London with her husband, the artist Grayson Perry, and they have a grown-up daughter named Flo Perry, who is a writer and illustrator.
