Minimum Viable Product (MVP)
An MVP is the simplest version of a product that allows a team to start the learning process as quickly as possible. Ries explains that an MVP is not about creating a low-quality product but about learning what customers truly want with minimal effort. For example, Groupon started with a simple WordPress blog and handmade PDFs to test their concept, which eventually led to their massive success. 'The lesson of the MVP is that any additional work beyond what was required to start learning is waste,' Ries notes.
